SCCER-f Round Table is a series of events dedicated to particularly support students and young women scientists. It is organized within the framework of the SCCER Mobility Advancement of Women program. We invite our young female researchers to meet a senior scientist, who will talk about her professional biography and discuss with the participants about particular difficulties faced during her carrier path.

Dr. Franziska Brem

Our second SCCER-f Round Table with Dr. Franziska Brem, Group Leader Power Electronics Packaging and Reliability at the ABB Corporate Research Center in Baden took place at ETH Zürich on 23 June 2016.

Franziska Brem received the B.E. and M.E. degrees in materials science and engineering at ETH Zurich after her master thesis at the Department of Materials Science, in the Device Materials Group at the University of Cambridge, UK. She further received the PhD degree in materials science from ETH Zurich in 2006. Since then she is working as a packaging engineer in research and development.

Dr. Brem explained remarkable facts about her working field and showed how pursuing a career in industry can also bring together fascinating work content and advantages for women during family phase.

Prof. Chiara Daraio

Our first SCCER-f Round Table with Prof. Chiara Daraio, Chair of Mechanics and Materials at ETH Zürich took place at ETH Zürich on 21 May 2015. Prof. Daraio allowed an insight into her biography and her exciting research field. It was an interesting and motivating exchange for those considering to pursue an academic career.
