Siemens joins efforts launched by ETH Zurich and SBB promoting future mobility solutions

Siemens Mobility AG is the first industry partner to join the “Mobility Initiative”, which ETH Zurich initiated together with the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in 2018. The contract was signed on the occasion of the World Economic Forum WEF on 23 January in Davos. Siemens’ donation to ETH Foundation strengthens mobility research at ETH Zurich and contributes to developing pivotal solutions for mobility of the future.

With the fast-moving development of new technologies, changing customer needs and digitalization, requisites for the existing mobility system are becoming increasingly more demanding. To buildup and intensify competencies and activities in this area, ETH Zurich launched the “Mobility Initiative”. The initiative aims to make Switzerland a leader in mobility research and to elaborate solutions to address future challenges. With its funding partnership and expertise, Siemens Mobility AG will contribute to advancing development in the field of future mobility.

As part of the Siemens enterprise, Siemens Mobility AG offers intelligent mobility solutions for urban, interurban and freight transport in Switzerland. Thus, it represents a main actor and employer in the Swiss road and rail technology sector.
